Packwood Grand Style

What to wear? One of Calgary’s hottest fashion events of the year (and not just because the forecast is calling for 30+ degree temperatures) is upon us and we’re having a hard time deciding what to wear. In case you missed our segment today on CTV Morning Live here are  a few of our ideas.

Don’t forget that we will be there judging for best outfits – one for the ladies, one for the fellas – and the winners will each get a $1000 gift card to CrossIron Mills. See you at the races!

GQ Lists 20 Most Stylish Men Alive

We love a good best-dressed list and GQ’s 20 Most Stylish Men Alive is always one to look forward to. Ever changing, this year we didn’t see Wes Anderson, Adam Levine or Matt Lauer (huh?) but we did see a few unexpected names on the list…this week, let’s talk about a few that we were a bit surprised to see. Do you agree?

Jeff Goldblum

A great actor, with a broad range, he appears in some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters and also makes us bust a gut. But is he worthy of this title of Most Stylish Man Alive? Actually, if we do some searching, he’s doing pretty well! The guy knows what he’s doing when he gets dressed and changes up the look often enough to earn him a spot.

Jared Leto

He’s tries really hard all the time, we give him that, but does he try too hard? Between all-white suits, beach blown hair and a daring street style the guy always makes a statement. Love it or lump it, we agree, he belongs on the list.

Jaden Smith

When your parents have as much scratch as Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith it would only make sense that you’re going to be able to afford some good clothes (or at least get your dad’s Fresh Prince hand-me-downs). But is he really doing anything that outstanding, GQ? We say, not yet.

John Mayer

Really? We don’t see it. He’s got a good casual style, and wears some pretty expensive brands, but does this translate to a top spot? Not quite. He’s about 50% of the way there for us.

The entire list breaks down below, any thoughts?

Ryan Gosling, Jeff Goldblum, Jared Leto, A$AP Rocky, Lebron James, Bradley Cooper, Jay Z, Brad Pitt, Harry Styles, Daniel Craig, Jaden Smith, Russell Westbrook, John Mayer, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Mark Ronson, Mario Balotelli and Eddie Redmayne.

Give your dad some swagger

Fathers day is this weekend, do you have your gift all wrapped and ready to go?

If not, we are always here to help! These stylish Fathers Day gifts will have your dad feeling fresh, cool and hip… yes, not words we usually use to describe our dads, but why not? We can help them get out of their dad jeans and sneakers into something that they’ll feel good wearing and the rest of us too!!

Love you Dads!

1. Aveda Men products available at Diva Salon Spa

These great mens products not only smell divine but are geared just for men. With conditioners, shampoos, shave lotions and after shave balms, your dad will be feeling fresh and smelling great. Way better than the old spice he is using now. Time to upgrade dad’s grooming products. Head to your nearest Diva Salon Spa and pick them as a great last minute gift idea!

2. A hip watch from Q&Q Watch

This lovely watch lets you have a new look every day of the week. There are 2 interchangable straps that make for 7 great looks. Perfect for the dad that loves fashion and has a bit of a fun personality. The great thing is that they are solar powered so no batteries needed.

I think we may have to get one of these for ourselves.

3. A good pair of Converse Sneaks

Every day needs a good pair of sneaks and Chuck Taylors are the the right ones to get your dad. No matter what he says, chucks are the classic pair that can be worn with jeans, shorts, and yes, even dress pants. Start off with the classic black pair or elevate the look with a bold colour or pattern. Converse has collaborated with some big names such as John Varvatos, Jack Purcell, and others for some amazing looks.
